Jixin Chen

Dr. Jixin Chen is currently a professor at Ohio University and one of our previous postdocs. He was born and raised in Wenzhou, China. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry from Nankai University, Tianjin China, advised by Prof. Naijia Guan. He got his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M University-College Station in May 2010, USA, where he was co-advised by Prof. Paul S. Cremer and Prof. James D. Batteas. After graduation, he joined Prof. Robert Hamers group at University of Wisconsin-Madison for 2 years as postdoc before he joined our group on July 2012. At Nankai University, Jixin studied heterogeneous catalysis and photocatalysis. At Texas A&M University, Jixin studied CdSe quantum dots: patterning, photo-oxidation, and plasmon-enhanced fluorescence from metal nanoparticles. At University of Wisconsin-Madison, Jixin studied organic self-assembled monolayers on surfaces of metal oxides and their application in dye-sensitized solar cells. In our group, Jixin is studied single molecular FRET and mass diffusion and binding on substrate surfaces. At his casual time, Jixin likes reading.
